Why another blog about parenting? Primarily because I feel that we, as parents that desire not to be just good parents but also great guides and leaders to our children, we need as much help as we can possibly get our hands on. I personally want to ensure that when my children get old enough and begin to dissect their life under my rule -a.k.a. criticize my decisions- I will be able to tell them that the choices I made were based on the best information I could find at the time, and that these were made not only with them in mind, but also for the good of the whole family.
Humanity in general seems to be making the cyclical mistake of thinking that the only way to rule their children is with an iron fist. But we know they will not like it, since we too were children not long ago. We know this approach isn’t correct, and if you’re reading this, you know we must at least try to do it differently than our parents did. Our ego blinds us from the truth. But we can change. We are never too old to modify bad behavior.
